From F4 Wiki

Author: Admin

Summary

F4 validates profile of a line against the ASME logic in the F4 Application and enforces application, datum, modifier, and pattern rules.

Validation rules

  • Profile of a line cannot be linked to a feature of size in F4.
  • Prohibited modifiers: diameter, LMC, MMC, projected tolerance zone.
  • True profile must be located using basic or toleranced dimensions.
  • Pattern application is allowed.
  • If the profile is applied to a datum surface, F4 flags ambiguity.
  • When basic dimensions are used, they must relate the true profile to the referenced datums.
